How does laser tattoo removal work?

Q-switched lasers work by shattering the pigment particles deep within the skin, allowing your immune system to scavenge and remove them.
This is the only clinically proven method of removing unwanted tattoos, without causing scarring.

How much does it cost?

Prices start at $60. Cost is calculated by the size and amount of ink contained in your tattoo. Check out our price guide, or fill out on online quote.

What does laser tattoo removal feel like? Does it hurt?

It’s commonly described as a rubber band snapping on the skin. We utilise the Koolio cooling system. This cools the skin before, during and after the procedure. It reduces pain while decreasing thermal temperature. Koolio combined with topical numbing cream can make the pain minimal.
I have had the procedure done myself and found it tolerable.

How many treatments will I need?

Every tattoo is unique and each individual responds differently to the treatment, so the number of treatments will vary.
On average an amateur tattoo can take between 3 – 5 and a professional tattoo 6 – 10 for complete removal.

Tattoo fading. How many sessions needed before a cover-up?

2-3 sessions on average. This usually yields a significant amount of fading, giving you many more options for your cover-up tattoo.

How long between each session?

A minimum of 6 weeks is needed. This allows time for the natural immune system response that follows the laser procedure to take effect and flush away the shattered ink, whilst leaving time for the treated area to heal.

Can all colours be treated successfully?

In general, darker colours respond more than lighter colours. Black, dark blue, red, orange, and purple inks, will usually be the easiest to remove.
Green, yellow and sky blue are the most difficult.

Will my tattoo completely disappear?

In most cases greater than 95% removal can be achieved.

Aftercare requirements?

Aftercare is almost as important as the procedure itself and is very much your responsibility. We will outline this with you at your session and supply you with an aftercare form.
